Wii Mod Chips

The Top 3 Wii Mod Chips Available

If you are looking for one of the best video game innovations out there, it has to be Wii mod chips. These allow you to unlock the Nintendo Wii and play games that are normally compatible with only the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and many other gaming consoles. However, you have to be careful on some of the Wii mod chips you purchase because many of them can contribute to an inoperable system. Since you do not want anything of this nature happening, we decided to describe the 3 best Wii mod chips available today.

If you are not so inclined to open your Wii console and solder in a Wii mod chip in order to play homebrew, backup games, and import games skip to the bottom of this article to find out how you can get the same thing without installing a mod chip!

#1 The D2CKey

Overall, the D2CKey is probably the most complex of all the Wii mod chips out there. Fortunately for you it is a top of the line unit that many people have used to transform their Nintendo Wii systems. One thing to keep in mind though is this isn’t the easiest thing to put together and unless you are an expert in soldering, we suggest you take it to someone who is certified and won’t mess up the console.

#2 The Duo Wii

We came across the Duo Wii mod chips about a week after they surfaced on the Internet. The abilities associated with this one are a little different then most Wii mod chips out there, but it is still quite useful. If you previously owned a Nintendo Gamecube, you can use the Duo Wii to unlock your existing Nintendo Wii and play the older games. This is a great benefit as well as the easy installation that is required. However, we aren’t sure yet whether you should be trying to unlock the Homebrew applications with the Duo Wii. The biggest reason is because it is still new to the world without a lot of case studies.

#3 WiiNJA

Out of all the Wii mod chips in existence, the WiiNJA is the most popular to date. The best part about these Wii mod chips is the easy installation. A total of 8 wires are all you will have to solder, but keep in mind you shouldn’t do it if you feel uncomfortable. There are two versions you can choose to use, but to be honest we recommend going with the regular version as opposed to the Deluxe just because of the price. Then of course there isn’t too much difference.

More to Come as They Surface

There are many other Wii mod chips around out there, but these three are at the top of our list. We do understand that our preferences may be slightly different from yours, so here are some of the other Wii mod chips available: the WiiP, WiiD, Cyclowiz, Open Wii, Wiikey, and Chiip. Obviously you don’t have to choose any of these, but if you utilize these tools you will be able to enjoy all your video games on one console. In the end it just means you will be saving money, instead of wasting it on other consoles.

Mod Chip Alternative

It really wouldn't be inclusive information about the Wii mod chip if we didn't explain the alternatives to the solution. There are alternatives to installing a physical chip in order to run Homebrew Applications, play Import Games and Backup Games.
