Wii Troubleshooting

3 Possible Problems and Solutions for Your Wii Console

While we have all enjoyed the Nintendo Wii to this point, there are still many of you suffering from some issues. Sure some of them are major and some minor, but it is definitely not fun having an interruption during your game time. Then again, the same goes for when you cannot even get going which is why we are about to share some Wii troubleshooting tips. Hopefully they will get you playing again in no time.

One thing to note is that we will not be able to list every single Wii troubleshooting technique in this article. The list below will contain some of the most common problems that people are looking for online. If you do not see the information you need or you try everything below with no positive results, do not be afraid to call the manufacture or customer service center for more help. We have used them and they are quite friendly as well as helpful.

Motion Problems

Many times when people are trying to play a Wii game the motion detector does not pick up all your movements. We understand how frustrating this is, but there are a few things you can do to get everything working properly. First off it is important to make sure you are using the control somewhere between three to ten feet from the sensor. If that isn't the issue make sure there are not any light infractions within the room or plain view of the sensor. This could mean a fireplace, some candles, or any other infra-red lighting in the way.

System Shuts Off on its Own

There is nothing more frustrating then getting into a game, then all of the sudden it shuts off. If you are having this problem then there are a few Wii troubleshooting areas you can cover. This could happen if you end up spending hours upon hours playing non-stop or at least having your Wii on. When the system overheats there is a mechanism that shuts it off immediately which could be the cause of the problem. Please understand this is not a normal or frequent occurrence with the system overall.

Problems with the Cursor

Every once in awhile you might notice an issue with the cursor. The cause could be several reasons so you will have to do some serious Wii troubleshooting on this one. However, it will not take long to fix because it is usually something minor. Your remote could just need a set of new batteries, or the jacket that is placed on the control could be blocking the eye at the end of it. If those two solutions don't work try taking the batteries out and waiting a bit before putting them back in the remote. It could end up resetting everything.

Anything Else

Like we said before if your issue does not revolve around anything you see here, just call the customer support. Then again you could just go to the main website and get the information there. They have a slew of different Wii troubleshooting techniques for a variety of issues. Plus, they revolve around every facet of the gaming console including online gaming. Hopefully though the topics above took care of your problems.
